Jukka JuholaBlack River Bluesman and the Cockroach Combo play their Blues in the deep woods and swamps of the muddy Black River Delta way up North in cold Finland. Their unrefined, electric and hypnotic Blues have been compared to the rough sounds of the Mississippi Hill Country artists as well as to anything between Tom Waits and Jim Morrison or psychoblues and garage. Whatever the influences may be, they play their Blues with no compromises just the way they feel. Listen to Cardboard and Plastic here at Jefferson for an impressive showcase of their style.

The previous CDs ”Not a Dog-gone Thing” (2003) and ”Ants in my Kitchen” (2005) , both rough live recordings, received a lot of international feedback – high rankings on playlists and positive reviews all over the world, gigs at big festivals home and abroad. The new promo-EP “Cardboard and Plastic” (2006) too, has been recorded live, now in a studio, without adding or deleting anything from those fresh first takes this time either. The next full-length CD is going to be published winter 06/07. New ideas and surprises are to be expected…

The band consists of: Jukka Juhola: guitar, vocals, Juha Lindgren: harmonica, Esa Santonen: drums and Jussi Konttinen: baritone guitar
