 Emil & the Ecstatics

Emil Arvidsson started his musical career back in 1997. This after seeing a blues artist live for the first time. The honest expression of this music felt natural from the beginning, and after a few afternoons at a well known Stockholm jam session, a band was formed - The Young Guns. The band soon became a kind of "crusade" for the renewal of the Swedish blues scene, with hundreds and hundreds of performances at festivals and joints all over Europe. Two albums, both on the Scana label, was recorded, and a number of splendid reviews followed. Touring continued, sometimes with names like Little Ed, Otis Grand and many others.

With the experience he got from all this, Emil decided to move ahead with his own band - Emil & The Ecstatics. The band is today mentioned as one of the top acts of Sweden, with splendid reviews of the self titled debut album, and another one being released November 2006 on CeePeeVee Records. The mix of blues and soul ( mostly original ), Emils powerful voice and blue guitar, a boiling pot of hammond organ-drums-bass, topped with a visual liveshow, has been welcomed with standing ovations from audiences all over Europe – Iceland, Germany, Finland, Belgium, Denmark, and last but not least from the compatriots in Sweden.
